The Centre will be hosting a vast range of pirate themed activities including face painting, balloon modelling, a fairground ride and a Punch and Judy show – all for free!

There will also be prizes for every child that manages to find and count all the pirate gold coins hidden in shop windows.
The event will run from 10 am until 2pm, with a guest appearance from Captain Jack Sparrow impersonator Darren Potter, who will be judging the children’s fancy dress competition at 12 noon in front of the co-op. Captain Jack will be meeting shoppers and posing for photos throughout the day. Children and adults can have portrait photos taken with Captain Jack for a small cost.

Horsefair Centre Manager Kevin Smith commented: “I’m really looking forward to the pirate fun day; it’s a great way to bring everyone together. We’ve got a lot planned and the great thing is that practically all of the activities are free. I can’t wait to see lots of pirates dressed up and making their way through the Centre on the day!”

Some of the Horsefair shops will also be joining in with their own pirate fun and children’s competitions.

A Captain Jack Sparrow impersonator will be visiting the Horsefair Shopping Centre for a pirate fun day on 20th August.
