He was presented with the award from the centre owners, NewRiver Retail, at the retail property group’s annual conference earlier this month.

The award recognises Kevin’s ongoing hard work to promote not only the shopping centre but also the Wisbech area, as well as his continuous efforts to provide entertainment for the Wisbech community by bringing people together for events at the centre. One of Kevin’s most recent successes was the Halloween event that saw hundreds of children taking part in a Trick or Treat extravaganza.

Kevin commented: “NewRiver Retail own over 25 centres around the country so to be recognised ahead of all the other centres is amazing, particularly considering how small the Horsefair is compared to some of the other centres. It came as a complete surprise to me, I’m delighted particularly as it’s for a part of my job that I really enjoy!’

On Kevin’s accolade Lucy Mitchell, marketing manager at NewRiver Retail, commented: “Kevin is very well-deserving of this award. He has delivered a wide variety of fantastic events and initiatives for the Horsefair so we are delighted to recognise his great achievements. His marketing and events programme reaches out to the local Wisbech community, driving sales for our retailers and brings people together – notably, all on delivered on a very conservative budget”.

This award comes after a very successful year for Kevin who has also received awards from Workman Retail for Centre Manager of the Year, as well a certificate of commendation from the shopping industry’s SCEPTRE awards for his marketing work.
