Acorns’ Chairman, Rob Gifford is pleased to have obtained the endorsement from the Centre, he said: “With everyone tightening their belts sponsorship is never easy to obtain and to have such a generous donation for the team’s kit and tracksuits is quite special.”

The local team is currently preparing to take on additional training grounds to provide facilities for the ever-growing number of young people in the area who are interested in getting involved.

“The Horsefair is the heart of Wisbech, it is committed to the local community and so are we through football and sports.

“The successful sponsorship was down to the work of Mike Gibbs, our sponsorship manager, as he approached the Horsefair initially. I would also like to thank the board of directors, especially Snips Parsons, of Wisbech Town FC, for their permission to use the Elgood stadium for a recent tournament and agreeing to allow our first ever under 18s team to use their facilities next season,” Rob added.

Horsefair Manager, Kevin Smith said: “I’m really pleased that the Horsefair has been able to fulfil the team’s sponsorship request and support the admirable work they do for local youngsters.”
