Horsefair Centre Manager Graduates
Kevin, who has managed the Horsefair Shopping Centre for seven years, undertook the two year course as part of his ongoing career development at the Centre.
The Shopping Centre Management Diploma took place at Reading University and is the official management course for the British Council of Shopping Centres and covers areas including; commercialisation, contract law, planning and corporate social responsibility.
“The course was very intense; however, it rewarded me with a far deeper knowledge and understanding of the wider shopping centre industry. It also gave me opportunity to compare good working practices and ideas with fellow students,” said Kevin.
The Horsefair Shopping Centre is managed by Workman Retail which encourages its Centre Managers to develop their careers and knowledge to ensure they offer the best levels of management.
Workman Retail partner, James Taylor said: “Kevin has done some fantastic work at the Centre and we really wanted to build on his talents and give him an opportunity to gain a wider understanding on the management process and meet others in the same position and share knowledge and experiences.”
Charles Spooner, from NewRiver Retail Ltd, owners of the Horsefair Shopping Centre, said: “NewRiver are proud of the quality of our Centre Managers and actively encourage entrepreneurial spirit in the team. Kevin’s success with his Diploma is a fine example of this. Kevin already has a proven skill-set for centre management and marketing continuing to be inventive, organised and passionate. He has recently put on some great events and is driving the Centre’s social media channels excellently. With respect to this we are delighted to say that Kevin will be increasing his responsibility across the NewRiver Shopping Centre portfolio picking up a further Centre to manage in Market Deeping”
