Horsefair Argos Manager dons her marigolds to help teenage cancer sufferers
Nadine Leonard, who manages the Wisbech based store, will be joined by Argos’ Area Manager for the region, Sue Annis. Both are taking on a 30 minute challenge, stores across the region will also be taking part in similar events.
The initiative is being run to help raise funds for the Teenage Cancer Trust. The charity aims to bring young cancer suffers together to support each other and give them opportunities to carry on being teenagers despite their illnesses.
Nadine and Sue have been challenged to carry-out any 30 minute task, which can’t take place within the Centre’s Argos store. They asked the Horsefair’s Centre Manager, Kevin Smith to set them a challenge. Kevin suggested the pair clean the tops of the centre’s bins in their marigold gloves!
Speaking about the upcoming challenge, Nadine said: “Sue and I are really looking forward to taking on the challenge to help raise funds for the Teenage Cancer Trust. It is such a worthy charity and we’re very happy to be cleaning the Horsefair’s bins in order to raise awareness and cash for the cause.”
Horsefair Manager, Kevin Smith said: “I am delighted that the Nadine and Sue are taking on the challenge, both will be wearing bright blue marigold gloves so our shoppers won’t be able to miss them and give them some encouragement!”
The cleaning challenge will take place within the Horsefair Shopping Centre between 9:45am and 10.15am on Saturday, 2nd July and shoppers and visitors can make a donation to the Teenage Cancer Trust either in-store at the Centre’s Argos or during the challenge.
