Help A Heart This Valentine’s Day At The Horsefair Shopping Centre
Centre Manager, Kevin Smith and Janet Kenworthy from the town’s British Heart Foundation store will take to the streets of the Centre armed with a box of prize-winning chocolates. Shoppers will have an opportunity to delve into the tin of treats for the chance to win a great Valentine’s Day themed prize.
Hidden within the wrappers of some of the chocolates will be little hearts, each heart represents a great prize donated by one of the Centre’s stores including Angel’s Oasis, Card factory, Paperbox, Aura and Boots.
Any funds raised from the day will go towards the British Heart Foundation’s new national research campaign called Mending Brocken Hearts. Scientists believe that the key to repairing a damaged human heart may be found by studying the Zebra Fish, which has the ability to mend its own heart. If part of their heart is damaged, they can repair it in a matter of weeks. Studying their heart and circulatory system will give scientists vital clues about how they could mend human hearts.
Janet, who manages the Wisbech British Heart Foundation store said: “The aim of the new campaign is to raise £50 million. Working with the Horsefair this Valentine’s Day to give away prizes is a fantastic way for the Wisbech store to raise awareness for the campaign.”
Horsefair Manager, Kevin Smith said: “Janet and I will be offering shoppers the prize-winning chocolates from 10am on Monday, 14th February throughout the Horsefair and helping to raise funds and for this fantastic cause.”
