The Horsefair is very excited to welcome the fast food giant to Wisbech, which has also recently seen the arrival of the coffee lovers’ favourite, Costa Coffee. Burger King has taken over the unit which used to occupy Burtons and Dorothy Perkins.

The movement of Burger King to the Horsefair is a very important step to the future for progression towards new and exciting times for Wisbech. The 30 new jobs have already been created to cater for the large 65 seater restaurant.

Kevin Smith, Centre Manager at the shopping centre, commented: “I am so pleased to welcome Burger King to the Horsefair. Along with the recent addition of Costa Coffee, it goes to show that Wisbech town centre continues to be a great place to shop, socialise and relax”.

Operations director for Millcliffe Ltd and franchise owner of the restaurant, Lamen Reddy, said: “We are working on a nationwide expansion so we have been looking at many areas of the UK to open new restaurants and this excellent location was perfect. We are overwhelmed by the support we have had and feel very encouraged by the buzz being created from the community”.

The store began to welcome customers on Wednesday 2 July with one avid fan queuing from eight o’clock in the morning until 3pm when Burger King officially opened its doors.
