Dreams Come True In Wisbech

The competition, launched last month, asked under 17s to design their fantasy shop to win a prize package of “a family night out in Wisbech town centre”. The prize consisted of tickets to the Luxe Cinema, Wisbech’s very own independent family-run venue, as well as a family bundle meal voucher for the new Burger King in the Horsefair Shopping Centre.

There were three age categories; 6 and under, 7 to 11 and 12 to 16. The 6 and under group was won by Bronwyn Morgan, aged 5 for her dress and flag shop. Daniel Madsen, aged 9, won the 7 to 11 category with his pet shop, and Leah Cousins aged 13 won the oldest group with her dress shop called “Bows”.

Kevin Smith, Manager of the Horsefair, where the shop designs were displayed said: “We enjoyed seeing the town’s children take part in the competition. The standard was really high and the judges found it difficult to choose the overall winners. Maybe one day the children will start their dream shops here in the Horsefair!”
