1. He’s making a list and checking it twice – Just like Santa, it’s important to make a list. Ensure you know who you need to buy for and do some research before you hit the shops to avoid panic-buying.

2. Buy more for your buck – Look out for offers where you can secure gifts for a few people at once. Shops like Boots and Superdrug have great offers, such as 3 for 2 on Christmas gifts, which means you could buy for your mum, gran and sister at a lower rate.

3. Win free parking – You can win free parking with no restrictions and other prizes from retailers at the Horsefair simply by displaying one of the centre’s new car stickers. Collect a sticker from the kiosk on the bus station to be in with a chance to win! Even without a prize sticker, parking at the Horsefair is free for two hours with a valid ticket and just £3.50 for the entire day so you could get all your shopping in one day without having to worry about struggling home with the bags in the rain and snow.

4. Arrange the turkey in advance – It’s never too early to get the turkey ordered and if you shop around in advance you’re more likely to get the best deal. The Co-op has some tasty treats to tempt you too!

5. Deck the halls (or just one hall each year) – Buy a few decorations each year to build up your collection without breaking the bank. This means you can have a slightly new look every year, but without spending too much. Poundland has some great baubles available and at just £1 each are a real bargain. Cardzone and Card Factory also have plenty of sparkle at reasonable prices to help transform your home into a mini Santa’s Grotto!

6. Clever clothing tricks – Invest in one staple wardrobe piece and a few accessories to change and update the look – you’ll feel as though you have a new outfit on for your Christmas do, going out with friends and Christmas Day with the family without having to buy three outfits. New Look has some great little black dresses and a range of jewellery and accessory options to choose from.

7. Remember to take a well-deserved break from shopping – Take a break from the shops and pop in to Costa Coffee for a taste of Christmas with a gingerbread latte. Or try the festive menus at Burger King and Greggs for a seasonal treat!

8. Listen online – Regularly check the Horsefair website and social media channels. At this time of year there are lots of updates on opening hours, New Year sales and the latest discount offers so you can be the first to see what’s going on and to get to the shops when the best discounts land.

9. Find that special gift – Don’t forget to visit the specialist stalls on Monday 15th December at the Wisbech Yule Fayre where you can pick up a unique gift for that someone special. At the fayre you’ll also be able to visit Rudolph and Santa’s other reindeer who will be waiting to welcome shoppers at the side of Boots.

10. Get in to the spirit with the sound of a brass band – The Horsefair will have a different local brass band playing every Saturday in the run up to Christmas to entertain you with festive favourites whilst you shop.
