Ghosts and ghouls to take over Wisbech!

Wisbech town centre will be overcome with ghosts, ghouls and all manner of spooky spirits on Saturday 27th October as part of the Spooktacular Halloween Event.

Over 50 town centre businesses will be involved in a free Trick or Treating event which will run between 3pm and 5pm. Businesses taking part will display a poster of the Wisbech Witch in their window and participating children, under the age of 15, can visit them to collect a treat.

Everyone is encouraged to wear fancy dress and the best costume will be judged by the Mayor and Mayoress of Wisbech at 4pm in the Market Place. As well as a prize for the best dressed child, there will be a second category for best dressed adult too!

The Spooktacular event will also have free activities such as balloon modelling and a fairground ride, as well as The Haunted House which will be in the Market Place from 2pm to 6pm.

Centre Manager of the Horsefair, Kevin Smith, commented: “Halloween is one of our biggest events every year and it’s amazing to see all of Wisbech town centre getting involved. The fancy dress event is one of my favourites, people put in so much effort with their costumes – including the parents – I can’t wait to see this year’s entries!”

Participating businesses can be found in the Horsefair Shopping Centre, the Market Place, High Street, Market Street, Hill Street and Union Street.
