A bumper month of car boots at the Horsefair
In May, the Horsefair Shopping Centre will be holding not one, but two car boot sales. Each will raise money for a local cause on the bank holiday weekends.
The first will take place on Monday 7th May raising money for the Wisbech Lions Club, a local group dedicated to fundraising to help the schools, the elderly and much within the local community and further afield.
Then on Monday 28th May, a second event will be held to raise money for FACET, (Fenland Area Community Enterprise Trust). FACET is dedicated to helping adults with learning and other disabilities to achieve their full potential in life, providing opportunities for them to train and gain qualifications to achieve employment or work towards living independently.
Both events will be from 9am until 1pm, with access to pitches for setting up available from 8am.
A pitch costs £5 for a car, and £10 with a trailer. All proceeds will go to the local charities.
Kevin Smith, Manager of the Horsefair Shopping Centre, said: “Bank holidays are a great time to have a clear out and get rid of some unused items that have been lurking at the back of cupboards! And then, for those without anything to sell, it’s the chance to pick up a bargain. As these say one man’s trash is another man’s treasure!”
The car boot sale is free to enter for shoppers and there will be unrestricted parking available on the ground floor of the car park.
